I have googled and googled and have an okay idea of what to expect but if anybody has any advice they think I wouldn't have found please share :)

One of the tamest breeds I've met are the midget whites, hold me while they're young and they'll let you pet and hold them when they're older.

Just make sure they stay plenty warm with a heat lamp, but aren't overheated. And make sure you teach them to eat and drink their water. As was mentioned previously, if you want them to be very sweet and pets, handle them lots from being young. My turkeys are four months old going on five now, and I held them all the time when they were younger and even still today. They are the sweetest pets you could ask for. Turkeys are great you'll love them! Just make sure you're always checking up on them. :)

I love my Midgets. Littlebratfarm, can you give us an update of how it's going?

Our first flock (3hens, 1 jake were kept thru winter) just didn't figure out all of the steps to baby making. I blame Timmy. Even my 10-year old daughter noted that he didn't seem to be doing It Right. So, no babies. I've just started another 12 MWs, hoping to have better luck next year. VERY tame.
