Anyone else in the Midwest dealing with all of the storms and flooding? I have parts of my farm over knee deep in water, but enough high spots for the livestock and now all of the wildlife seem to be enjoying the high ground here. The deer have been sleeping in my garden at night and every day they are out in my back lawn or out in the pasture with the horses eating. Whole flocks of Egrets too out in the pasture with the horses walking underneath them and following them around. It’s like a zoo here. All of this water though😩 I spent the first half of my morning yesterday in my basement cutting out old pipes and replacing them while standing in inches of water. That was fun, but we got everything fixed and the sump pumps running again. I spent the other half of the day putting up more fence in the high spots to get the animals moved out of the flooded pastures🙄 I had to have windows and some doors replaced with the earlier storms, but I guess it’s not as bad as two years ago when we went down to the basement during a tornado warning and came upstairs to a mini-waterfall in our kitchen coming from the roof? Yeah we had to get the whole roof replaced so that was fun😅

Yep. Lots of flooding here. This is all farmland, homes and roads currently underwater. Everyone has to take the scenic route now:

We got hit by the EF3 tornado back in late April. That wasn’t fun at all.

…Definitely going to take some serious time cleaning up again :(

Hi! The other day my 16 and 19 year old sons and I went to the basement again. Weather alarm was screaming and it was a complete whiteout outside.
One of the huge Elm trees in our yard seemingly broke in half but thankfully there was no other damage.
We live in south central Iowa close to the Missouri border.

The Des Moines River caused flooding in other parts of the county and in the county to the north (where they sandbagged ahead of time).

I was lucky. I only had some hard rain and a little standing water in the fields around me. No wind damage, no basement flooding, just mud, plenty of mud, around the coops and runs with 3 inches of rain in three days.

Hope everyone is recovering and there's only calm weather ahead for you.
