Today is day #7.
Took this picture this morning. This Falcon (I think that’s what it is) has been making kills in my yard judging from the piles of feathers on average about 2 per day.
My hubby and I took turns one day harassing this bird. It was gone the next day so I thought it had moved on.
It came back the following day. It’s hunting schedule is based on my feed schedule. Although the wild birds are all but gone there are a few who still are hungry enough to run the gauntlet.
Yesterday I had to clean and restock my coop & run. I was in and out of the garage and house (minutes at a time) when I looked out my garage window and saw my Leghorn’s behavior I whipped open the door. Just as the Falcon swooped. Talk about screaming at the top of your lungs!
For those who may not watch/know their chickens behaviors they will walk very upright and their gate is slow and purposeful (like tip toeing) especially if they are in the open usually heading towards shelter.
And all are Silent. Eerie ~
I’m so frustrated!!
Just had to Vent

It's a beautiful bird, and will move on when there's nothing to eat at your place. Keep the chickens in, and stop feeding the wild birds, and he should give up and be gone in another week or three.
That's why I have a large enough coop and safe run, so when there's a predator situation, or a blizzard, everyone can be in for a couple of weeks and be okay.

Thanks that’s just what I did. Stopped feeding wild birds a couple years ago. I just can’t keep sparrows away and they attract predators.

Looks like a Cooper's hawk to me.
We have so many migrating birds. The photo I actually got from inside my garage. It couldn’t see me. It has a very distinctive black hood or helmet. It’s wing span is very wide and the ends of the wings tip up (like the letter L) the best match I could find was a Peregrine falcon. Dunno
