well my son was in the hospital for a few days so the stayed in the hen house ( 5 chickens 10' X 15' ) when I came back we found the egg. ( they were still fed and watered just not let out.

I let they out all day today though....maybe thats why no egg? then again I've only got 1 egg so I know I need to be patient....I'm just anxious to start collecting them. I'm such a dork lol

Love the "cheap rent district". That's all anyone needs to do for nests. Figure out a design that will be attractive to the chickens and is convenient for collecting the eggs and you have it made!

I love that cheap rent district. Thats exactly what Im going to do. I think Ive seen those boxes at Walmart, storage boxes I think they are called there. But they are plastic, which is a great idea.

Cheap rent has a design flaw, if you decide to use this builders blueprint. It should have a second board at a right angle on the front, so the chickens have a perch to land on.

As it is designed now, they have to hop up from the ground and sometimes find someone else in the box that they want.
