Mille Fleur Leghorns from Sandhill Preservation

I ordered from SandHill Preservation Center white Leghorn, brown leghorns and 5 mille Fleur Only 2 mille Fluer males survived. I don't think the Mille FLeurs are leghorns They have white legs all others even black leghorns have yellow legs. The body shape and combs do not look of leghorn type. Do you think the standard of perfection alowed white skin in leghorns? Thank you.

Seriously I would like to see pics too though

Considering mine are fully feathered out now it is not possible to go back in time to get pics of the yellow chicks. I have more due soon though and will get pics of them if they hatch the same color.

I was wondering if anyone with the Sand Hill Mille Fleur Leghorns can say how well they lay? I'm thinking about getting some for a project, but would like to keep the egg production up!

Thanks,

Kathleen

Don't know how the mf leghorns lay , but Speckled Sussex are mille fleur and may come in better body type than leghorns for your project . As the OP has discovered , they hatch in various colors and feather into the mf pattern .

Yes, I've been thinking and figuring all afternoon, and I think that Speckled Sussex and Buff Orpingtons are going to have to be mixed to make mille fleur with the type I want, more or less.

Thanks.

Kathleen
