My buddy Dave and I were having coffee at the kitchen table when Dave made note of the chicken blending in with the surroundings and not knowing which chicken he was referring to I took a look and HOLY SMOKIN HEN with NINE yes I said nine chicks. Like where the hoot did she find nine chicks!!!!
Carol and I have always been pretty good at counting heads at night to make sure all are in and yes we got lazy, the hen hatched these little buggers somewhere on the acreage and it is amazing she survived as we have our share of evil thingys roaming at night. I did a half baked search to see if I could find the shells to no avail, we have been pretty diligent to remove eggs right away as we do not need more. Here are some of the photos of the hen-chicks and rooster and I have to admit it was a stroke of luck that she mated with her own breed (we have two roosters). The sad news is that I am thinking that there are seven roosters in this hatch and well it is never fun. Sorry for the problem this should work

The Belgian Bearded d'Uccle (pronounced dew-clay), or Barbu D'Uccle in French, is a breed of bantam chicken originating from the town of Uccle on the outskirts of Brussels, Belgium. The bird is frequently referred to as the Mille Fleur in the U.S.,[1] after the most common color variation (which is French for "thousand flowers"). It also has a related variant that is tailless, called the Belgian d'Everberg.

After posting the hen and her chicks I have now learned the true identity of the birds
poultry.
