I bought five chicks, I saw the mom and dad did not have beards, though both were pretty colored. I noticed in pictures here and on feathersite they show pics of both.

There is an old Dutch breed called Booted Bantams. Millefluer D'Uccle actually differs from the Booted Bantams with the beard and muff which they have. Both breeds exist in the same colors. Many people think they are the same breed.

The Mille fluer D'Uccle is the breed Belgian bearded d'uccle
the "Mille Fleur" is only the color pattern..
Belgian bearded d'uccle should have a bearded and feather footed IF it has a single comb..
There is a Belgian bearded d'uccle that is clean legged
( no feathers on the feet ) BUT in must rose comb...
Then there is the Booted Bantams that are booted (feather footed) and no beards and they must have a single comb..
Do you have a picture that will help...

We have Mille Fleur Belgian Booted Bantams then. I'll have my son take pictures later since they are already a month old to see if any of you have any guesses to obvious males or females.
