We have our baby (teen) chicks 9 weeks and 7 weeks old out in the main chicken run. Yes the main run is predator proof. We built a 24"x18" box (mini coop) with an attatched XL wire dog kennel. They really don't go in the mini coop much , just at night. But we planned on leaving them in that arrangement untill they are 12 weeks old. Is the 24"x18" (it is 18" tall) large enough for them to sleep in? They have a roost bar outside and a short one inside just a few inches off the ground. Hoping having them out there will geothermal big girls use to them before the get out of baby jail!

Hello, are there just two chicks? Assuming there are only two, they should be fine in the mini coop for a few more weeks until they are integrated. As long as they have good ventilation and get outside every day.

There are 4. 2 are 9 weeks and 2 are 7 weeks. They ONLY sleep in it. They are out in their secure run all day. That is 12 square feet
