I'm scrounging around some more to get some more wood together for a coop. What would be a good size for ten chickens? The coop and the run?4x6x6?

Would anyone have some pictures to share?

I look forward to chatting with some of yall.

Cute mini-coop. For your regular coop, you want 4 sq ft of floor space per chick, 10 sq ft total for coop+run.

Welcome!!!! And you need to build a very, very large coop for those 10 chickens. And the reason for the very, very large coop......is because you will want 10 more and then 10 more and well you get the picture.

If you stay here very long you will find they a chicken quickly becomes an addiction.

That lil play pen is cute! Do you have any plans for it or just make it up as your went along?

Cute little tractor, put a hutch on the side and you can use it as a quarentine pen if you ever get adults!

To avoid potential picking problems and so on, I'd go for a 6x8 coop minimum, with an attached 8x12 or larger run if they can't free range. If they have to be inside in the winter, I'd go for an even larger coop. You can try to go smaller, but it can be hard to stop picking if it ever starts. They can get bored easily. Best of luck!

WELCOME!!!

Nice work! I love watching little chicks explore the lawn!

Thanks for the info.I just had some old wood fencing lying around and I just slapped it together with some crown staples.Used 1/4 inch cloth. It measures 2'x3'.Iwas gonna use it for containing them inside, but cardboard reflected the heat better from the lamp and kept them warmer.
