mini cows?

I have had quite a bit of experience with horses and have milked a cow once, but I am thinking I need to think about this some more just because of their size and I would want to be able to give them more space. one day....

I have about 1/2 acre fenced in maybe a little less. I think I need to go visit one, oh and I would want it for milk and as a pet.

With just a half acre you could keep one but, you would have to supplement feed year round. As pointed out the mini's are just as expensive as the regular breeds. For a family milk cows jerseys are nice. Smaller so they are not as intimadating and they give wonderful rich milk to make things with. They also don't give as much as a larger breed (holstein, milking shorthorn, ashyire, etc.) would so much more family friendly that way.
