Yes, tin foil. You have to position it in the incubator to reflect the light to reach the desired temperature in the egg area. VERY VERY TEDIOUS to get this thing to work.

I bought one and tried three different times to hatch eggs- button and coturnix quail. Nada. I put it away and then my favorite button quail left her nest 1 week before hatch so I said "what the heck" and put the six eggs in the dome bator. Four hatched right on time. It will fit 12+ button eggs or 10 coturnix eggs. I don't plan on using it except in such an event and went out and bought a hovabator.

Don't waste your money. If you're going to spend $20, spend $40. LGs are considered pretty bad incubators, but they're much more reliable than those things!
