Mini Lop coat color?

I'm not really any good at explaining things, but I'll have a go :) A colour like smoke pearl marten, is just smoke pearl but martenised, right? The smoke pearl, is just a shaded self blue, and the smoke pearl marten is just a shaded blue otter. So if a rabbit is just self orenge, then you magicaly martenised it, it would have the white rings around its eyes ( like the rabbit in this post does), white insides of the ears, white bits in the nose, and will be white under neath. It would be orenge otter. If you magicaly changed the rabbit again to BROKEN orenge otter, then im pretty sure thats just what the mini lop is, with the darker agouti bits like Bunny lady said. I still don't get the genetic side of these things, thats just identification :) Some one else will have to tell you the geneticy things to do with it. Please some one correct me if Im wrong though XD
Sorry, but you are barking up the wrong tree, here. The Tan/otter/marten can be pretty much described as a rabbit with self-colored body hairs, and the lighter colored "trim" of the Agouti. Agoutis have white on the insides of their ears, white rings around their eyes, while lining to their nostrils, white under the jaw, white between their toes, white on their bellies, and white undersides to their tails. They also have a lighter colored triangle at the base of their ears. Really the only difference between the appearance of a Tan-patterned rabbit and an Agouti-patterned rabbit is the body hairs. Agoutis have banded body hairs, selfs have body hairs that are pretty much one color, or that sort of blend from one color to another without clear and distinct bands. As Orange is an Agouti-based color, an Orange rabbit has the eye rings, ear trim, white belly, etc, of the Agouti-patterned rabbit.

Combine the Agouti gene with the non-extension gene, and you have an Orange. Combine the Self gene with the non-extension gene, and you have a Tort. Since the Tan-patterned rabbit has the body hairs of the self, combining the Tan gene with the non-extension gene would result in a rabbit that looked like a Tort, with the light markings of an Agouti.

The OP's friend has correctly identified this doe as a Broken Orange.
