My daughter ordered me three Turkens (we call them Naked Necks here) after a fox attack devastated my little flock. Husband not happy about buying more chickens.....but he left the coop open.
Off we went to collect the three....my daughters immediately fell in love with the odd looking little beggars.
So, got back home and off the top of my head said 'Do you like my ostrich chicks?' He looked at them briefly and said..."Oh no, not another species. What are you going to do with them when they are standing 7 feet tall?".......just looked at them again and they do look a bit like ostriches.......but mini. Suffice it to say it is me who looks after the poultry usually......but have been off my feet with a leg injury so had not been able to get to shut the coops at night.
