we went to our blue brooder in the brooder there was chicks with missing heads and legs they looked like they were trying to be pulled through 1 cm wire.whatever it was gave up and got in the coop and bite the heads of and leaving headless and legless bodys.what is it?

The poor things were being pulled through the wire. RACOON for sure! Very typical killing. Best get it before it returns...and they ALWAYS return for still another massacre.

1cm? i havent yet seen a raccoon with hands smaller then one cm lol.. maybe a finger or two lol... look for other holes? rats will do this..

there is a 1-2 inch gap where the walls met on one side

1.27 cm equals one half inch. I have had many quail pulled thru half by half hardware cloth by coon.

the gap is really 1 inch wide.
