Minnesota Joe

Micro hen keeping. 4 hens permitted no chicken math. With the City ordinances for coop setbacks, there is only one spot with a 5x10 foot print. See photo of snowed area between my two sidewalks. Second photo is of the right side of coop and the back gate. It’s currently a flower bed.
My backyard is enclosed in a 6ft privacy fence. There isn’t any natural shade. On a summer day without a breeze it can get very hot, My plan is to build the coop 5x10. Entire structure floored and roof covered. Part of it an enclosed 5x6 coop and a 4x5 run.The run will have roof, hardware cloth walls. The run will have the available shade- see photo. Yes as the sun moves north the shaded area will decrease in size. The run with roof and floor will make for easier maintenance. A dusty station will be provided. As the coop/run is in the middle of the backyard and back gate guests will walk passed the coop/run. The best spot for the hen run is in the shaded area. But with the run in the back I won’t see my hens.i was cautioned to have your hens where you can see them as that’s why you have them.
So everyone the chicken run up against the fence with the coop facing the house? Or coop in the back and run in front?
