Poor girl got a minor beak fracture. No blood, doesn't seem like it's splitting terribly. I applied bag balm. I assume the brutal cold just made it brittle and she chipped it somewhere. Doesn't seem distressed but I noticed when she jumped up to a roost close to me when I was cleaning their bedding out. Almost like she wanted to show it to me.

Nothing to do here other than monitor it and let it grow out, right? Doesn't seem serious enough to try gluing for filing down.

Also the blackening on her comb + head feathers is from bag balm I applied the other night, not frostbite. It just collects dirt like a magnet, but their combs are all bright red and super lively.

It may be shallow enough to not bleed but I would do super glue and teabag to stabilize and keep it from splitting any higher/deeper if she crashes into something again. Poor gal.

Do I first apply glue to the teabag patch, pinch the edges together, and gently lay on top? With tweezers? May need another pair of hands to help me.

Slightly worried about the fumes from the superglue but I assume it's minor enough to not cause issue if not done in excess? She's asleep now but I guess I'll try getting her early morning to prevent her from making it worse.

It's definitely a two person job. I looked this up back when my hen lost part of her beak but there was no way of saving that piece so I didn't actually get to try it. But this is precisely the type of injury that it is meant for. There was another video with a veterinarian rebuilding one for a parrot but it's been years ago, I don't recall what materials she had going.
