Hi. Sorry, I don't know if this is in the right place. I have a 14 week old Ameracauna (I don't know if I spelled it right) and she likes to go under a lilac tree in my backyard looking for bugs. When I pick her up to go put her back in the coop she smell kinda minty. I thought maybe it was something in her beak and so I opened it and it didn't stink or smelled minty. It seems to be just around her head. Is there something I should be aware of? All my other chickens go under the same tree and never smell minty. Thanks.

Umm....I wish mine smelled minty. Or like lilac.

Mine tend to smell like corn or poo. But never minty.

Maybe. Not sure there are any around though! (:

Mine smell minty all the time - but there's a bunch of mint growing out back that they like to scratch in.

You should call Wrigley's gum and tell them about your minty chicken!

Mine smell like dirt. Not that nice dirt you use in your garden--the nasty, muddy, congealed stuff.

You don't have anything to worry about unless she's showing some other symptoms. If they're diseased, they usually smell of something a *lot* worse than mint.
