After a broody up and leaving the eggs, a 6 hour power outage, and limited heating options one of my eggs has pipped. I have them in a box under my Eco Glo brooding plate and I have a dish of water in the box. Is there anything I should look for or be aware of while it's hatching? The membrane looked a little dried out so I dabbed a little bit of water on it. After coming this far I would hate to lose the chick now.
I hope it won't be the only one to hatch since I know having just one chick isn't the best situation.
