Hello from Miracle,

Here are some pictures of me up close. I used to let Mena hold me every day but it started to freak me out so she quit. I still let her take my picture though. When she brings be special treats it makes me really happy so I let her get closer to me. She talks to me a lot but I don't understand everything she says.

You can see in those pictures how pretty my feathers are. I preen them every day and that keeps them looking nice. Some people think that crossbreeds like me are ugly. One day a man came to our farm and I heard him say "That is the ugliest bird I ever saw." He probably didn't think I would understand because I'm just a bird but I did.

It is ok though because there are a lot of people who think I'm pretty.

If I am a girl I wonder what color egg I will lay. My daddy was an EE and EEs can lay colored eggs. I wish I could lay a pink or blue or green speckled egg on Mother's Day for Mena. Wouldn't she be surprised!!!!! I have been going in the nest boxes like the hens do but nothing comes out. Oh well. Maybe one day it will.

Miracle you are beautiful and it's not just skin deep. That man that made the comment must have awaken on the wrong side of his bed. People that make remarks like that aren't happy with themselves so they like to make fun of others. I love your beard and ear muffs and your coloring. I have to go back thru all the pages and see if there was a photo of when you were first born. It would be a great treat for Mena if you surprised her with a beautiful colored egg. But if you can't manage it for Mother's Day, there is always her birthday or Xmas etc. If you do it ANY day, we'll all be cheering and consider it a major holday.

And if you don't maybe you will find another way to surprise her, crowing under her window would be nice too! Or you could try going broody to see if you like the egg/chick business.
