Miracle- Hello! guinea/chicken crossbreed

Quote:
Wow! It seems like Miracle's whole life is made of miracles... so sorry for the hens you've lost.

also i have a question, i know someone asked if you'd breed a chicken rooster and a guinea hen again. im not sure what you answered, but i was wondering if you'd try a guinea rooster with a chicken hen. see what the results are and maybe continue with that sort of thing.

just a suggestion.

You are right that I have been asked that question before. Truely, I can't say I had anything to do with the "breeding" of Miracle. Circumstances just fell into place with no intervention on my part. BUT......if I were to try for another "miracle" I would get me an EE rooster and put him in with nothing but guinea hens. Preferably a young EE rooster with nothing on his mind but "you know what". The older more experienced roosters might not go for guineas. The RIR we have now doesn't but he has 7 chicken hens so maybe that is why. From what I have been told from others, it won't work trying to cross a male guinea to a chicken hen. Their anatomy doesn't allow it. It can be done artificially though, I think.

ok.

Geeee. Sorry guys. I thought I did get you a close up. I'll do better tomorrow but watch out. I'm going to get you an eyeball shot that you will remember in your sleep. Miracle's face is a little scary but the eyes are very kind and seem to look into your soul.

Hello from Miracle,

Here is a picture of me up REAL close. I don't much like having a camera right in my face but I did it just for you guys.

The dogs that came here were looking for some birds. The coyote came to eat and the dogs came just to kill birds. We miss Noel, Opal, and the little lavender hen. It was really scary for all of us. I flew into the trees with my buddies and we stayed up there for a long time. We came down a little while after Mena came home but we were all nervous the rest of the day. She is making me stay in the coop and run most of the time. The dogs came back again but didn't catch any of us. The coyote came back too and laid on the pool bank watching us. Last night a fox came and left tracks all around the coop. He got caught so we don't have to worry about him but there are more fox out there. Mena has been marking the territory. Don't ask me how she does that. She wouldn't want me to tell you. I know we are still in danger.

The new chickies that came from the hatchery are scared of me. I think it is because I chase them and peck them. I am just trying to get to know them and let them know that I am an important bird around here.

Stay safe out there everyone. Don't let any predators get you!

Miracle-

What beautiful eyelashes you have. Silly humans do silly things to get curly blinkers like yours. What a beautiful girl you are!

What a great photo, Miracle! Your Mena sure knows her way around a camera! I can't seem to get a good closeup of my chickies to save my life! So sorry you lost some of your friends. Do what Mena tells you and stay safe!

Miracle, Mena knows what is best for you so please listen to her. I am so sorry about the poor hens that were lost. You seem to have a traffic jam of predators. I would think the dogs would get the fox, and the coyote would take the dogs, and the guineas and chickens would be safe for awhile. I am very thankful that you and your friends fly away from danger. Just be careful, there are predators that drop from the sky or hide in the trees.
