Ran in to refill the food and water for the chicks in the brooder before going to work, somehow one of them had gotten out, I didn't see it and I stepped on it. It jumped up and ran and then quickly died. I feel just horrible about it!

I am so sorry to hear about your baby, just remember it was an accident. I have read many of your posts and can tell you love your baby's. Feel better and I sorry for your loss

Oh no!! I'm so sorry that happened! For me, I didn't close the bathroom door all the way, when one of my chicks jumped out, my cat was there waiting for it....he had followed me in.

I keep waiting for the same thing to happen to me. :-( Don't feel bad. You didn't do it deliberately or out of carelessness. Just enjoy the rest of your babies and give them some extra love.

So sorry, that's a rough kind of accident to have to deal with. I've had to learn to always, always look down when there's chicks in the brooder because they are little Houdinis and can be absolutely anywhere. But like everyone else has said you didn't mean to do it.
