I just did look up "mirror and chicken" on here today, and only encountered a small thread in Run and Coop Construction. This has to be a fascinating topic!! After 2 years with chickens it finally occurred to me to wonder at their response to mirrors and windows. DUH
My experience - my first rooster hung out a lot on our porch, but never really appeared to care about his reflection on the doors. Our young Cubalaya cockerel seems quite vain/self aware. He spends a lot of time on the stairs, fluffing, strutting, and flapping. Likes to gaze at the window I think too. The hens mostly ignore the window.
