Hi, I noticed this today while hanging out with the new chicks in the coop. I don't think it's bothering her, she seems to walk around fine, but I'm wondering if I should try to correct it? I noticed something like this a week ago but then thought it went back to normal. Now I think it's an anomaly. Any experience out there?

Looks like a crooked toe which could be from a number of things. If it's not bothering her, then personally I would leave it be. At 4wks of age, you probably won't be able to correct it and if you could, it would probably be painful.

Curled toes are a fairly common issue. I think it's caused by some sort of nutrient deficiency. I have had a chick with extremely curled toes who grew into an otherwise healthy adult. She just looked like her feet were on backwards. If she's getting around fine, I wouldn't worry about it.

There is a difference between Crooked Toes and Curled Toes.
Crooked Toes, causes can be genetics, floor of brooder too cold, raised on wire floors and incorrect incubation (wrong temp/humidity).

Curled Toes the cause is usually incorrect diet for breeding stock or vitamin B2 deficiency in chicks. Genetics can also play a role, but a lot of times Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) can make a big difference in correction.

Look awful! She’s had good nutrition since I received her in the mail as a day old chick. The others are all fine. I’ll hope for the best!

It won't hurt to give her 1/4 tablet of B-Complex a couple of times a week for a few weeks. What you want is B2(Riboflavin). The easiest way is to get human B-Complex tablet at your pharmacy. You can also use poultry vitamins like Poultry Cell at a rate of 1cc per 3 pounds of weight.
