I have a brother of his, basically identical, just blue instead of black, he's also very pretty.

Alright, I caught this when it was quite hot out, hence everyone panting. It was 91 but had a "real feel" of 97 with our lovely humidity.



In the middle of doing chores a storm came through and dropped the temp over 20 degrees and dumped a ton of rain about 30 minutes after this photo.

Here's the mauve cockerel, he had chipmunk stripes as a chick and now has some red leakage in his wings.



Then I have my mystery wheaten pullet


And my special Badger girl who still flies up on my back every chance she gets

He's a beauty! Its been roasting here too, rain is the only way to cool it down. Its raining here right now!

This is a young cockerel, about 13 weeks now, from my satin paint rooster over a layer breed hen, his leakage and feather sheen is so cool.

It's of course way more vibrant in person, but the camera got the gist.

We had some crazy rain yesterday. We have had several storms forecasted and nothing has happened so I thought it would be the same yesterday. Nope! Heavy wind and it just dumped rain, for awhile it was driving sideways, we were out doing chores still. That rain hurt! Filled my rubber boots about 4" over my ankles with water, drenched several chickens, some were still out in their runs so I ran around popping chickens inside coops, closing windows and doors. It was raining so hard I couldn't see, just water flooding down my face. Oops, next time I'll try to have some faith in the weatherman

We had a huge branch break out of a tree, it's still hanging up there, right over the edge of one coop we'll work on how to safely get that down this weekend.

One of the chicks I sold from my first hatch is also wheaten! I'm thinking of crossing her with the mauve cockerel from Debbie, he had chipmunk stripes and now has red leakage so maybe they can produce something unique colored!
