I've also heard "If you build a Marans coop, they will come"

Hubby just suggested last night that we build another coop like the one my dad built, which is an excellent idea! If we make it a touch bigger I can split it in half and have 2 really nice sized walk in coops for eh-hem, maybe one to be for the Marans... I should not be adding another breed what happened to Marans pullets to get some olive eggers from, where is the maybe a new coop for Marans coming from

And just for those not counting...in that post Tink said 'Marans'...5 times.

Subtract other frivolous breeds.

Frivolous breeds such as silkies... yeah yeah, I know. But have you seen how cute they are!?!

Exactly! I contemplate getting out of silkies at least once a week, but they're so dang cute and I have a ton invested in them and especially this year I finally have breeding pens I'm excited about.

LOL, I like my OEGB better than the silkies but a friends kids wanted them so I got some.

I think this is a situation where you don't understand until you've had some silkies, they just show up and demand adoration and you are helpless to resist.
