My hens have recently started laying eggs. Their new behavior started about the same time. I check the nesting box a couple of times a day. They usually just come and sit on the perch closest to me and talk with me while I check. Now, one or two will race up the ramp into the coop and be at the door of the nesting box when it is opened by me. They are not mean or nasty. It just seems like they are trying to let me know they are younger than me and can get there faster or just wanting to play peek-a-boo. This is not an occasional thing. It happens every time. Has anyone out there has a similar experience. I have had hens before and they never did this.
