1) What type of bird , age and weight.
2) What is the behavior, exactly.
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms?
4) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma.
5) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation.
6) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all.
7) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.
8) What has been the treatment you have administered so far?
9 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?
10) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.
11) Describe the housing/bedding in use

1) Pullet, Bantam cochin bantam, about 14 weeks and about 400 grams i think, if i can read the scales right
2) Normal, chatty, eats and drinks fine, gets on with the others
3) Not sure, i thought i found a lump the other week but then it seemed to have disappeared, but it showed up and stayed for around a week.
4) Not that i can see, i dont think theres any broken bones though i havn't ruled the possibility out
5) No idea. I thought maybe she hurt herself befor ei had her as a baby, her mother was kidnapped soshe may have been injured during that, but it could just be an abnormality in her?
6) Eating: Layers pellets, just coming off chick crumbs with some sort of anti-biotic i think and she's been drinking water, same as the other girls
7) She has a runny diahrea and when she poops it makes a squishy noise, like if you squeeze a wet spong and it goes "Pfut" :hmm
8) Nothing, i have no idea what it is

9) I'll treatmyself, and maybe ask my auntie who works in a vets to come have a look... and see a guy who knows about birds maybe
10) Post pics below
11) Straw in the eggboxes, and they used to have straw in their house, but its wood shaving now instead.

I have no idea whats wrong with her, she seems happy enough, runs around and it isn't slowing her down in any way i can see, but she is smaller and scrawnier than the rest and is very pale on her feet and beak and little comb. Also, she has little bald patches as they all do feathering, but the bald patch on this lump (About, and in in diameter, inch and halfish?) seems streched, and against the other female pekin her age, it feels like her crop fell into her shoulder area :hmm

IMG00049-20100118-1606.jpg

The bald patch over it

IMG00048-20100118-1605.jpg

The size with my fingers wrapped round it

IMG00046-20100118-1604.jpg

If you can tell its sticking out quick a bit, but its hard to see in the feathers

IMG00044-20100118-1600.jpg

Again hard to tell the size difference with the feathers but Betsy is bigger than Gerry

IMG00041-20100118-1557.jpg

You can easily see the colour difference in their feet, and all the chicks have yellow feet except for thetwio silkie croo's, who have black skin all over.

IMG00043-20100118-1558.jpg

Bad picture but Betsy has more colour in her faace by far, where as Gerry is all pink and light (on the right)

I got a little video too if that helps

Please help, i love all my babies and i want her to be well, i don't mind if it's just an abnormality so long as she can live with it.
She can be my little odd ball

As to what is wrong it is very hard to tell from your pictures. It could be a tumor. I really tried to tell where it was on the chicks body but with your hand in the way of the picture I just couldn't. It could be the birds crop. As to the pale color: some don't color up as fast as others. Some have this color because of worms, lack of light, bad heart, etc. It is just really to hard to tell from your pictures. You gave alot of information but actually none that was that useful.

Tell about the housing/run the chick is in. Has it been raining alot where you are. Are these chicks on ground previously used by older birds? etc. saladin

Back to chick feed for them.
Thanks

The house was previously used by other birds, but it's a new house and the ground was redone before these came onto it.
It's on her right shoulder between her neck and wing. It's like a hard ball in a squishy bag, and it's pretty much a sphere. It's bigger that her head.
The thought of it being her crop seems right to me becausei cannot feel one at all in her chest... but could that be a tumor stopping her getting nutrition?

The crop is located on the right side between the neck and wing. So, I'd say there is nothing wrong.
Here is a picture of a Malgache chick. You can see the crop clearly because of the naked zone. I hope this helps you.
