Jen4- i wanted to learn because i was tired of shelling out so much money for bagels. it just seemed ridiculous. and think of the bagel and egg sandwiches!

Since I've learned gumpsgirl bread I'm baking my 3rd set today We really love it! gg's bread is great! i like it for a 'dinner' bread. the texture is just right for that. i have a bunch of bread and biscuit recipes and like to switch it up all the time. just thought it was time to do bagels. let us know how your bagels come out! or if you make a certain flavor! (my oldest DD is 14 and she went nuts over them.)

Thanks for posting this! BTW, if you ever want to try English muffins, go to foodnetwork.com and make Alton Brown's recipe. Very tasty and reheat well in the toaster. Very crumpet-like.
