Got home from work tonight, and the BLR kids coop was empty. Ok, that is weird, but once or twice a while back, I found them at the back door of the big girls coop. So, I look there- no chickens. Now, it's really weird. I have looked all over the yard with the little crappy flashlight I have, calling for them. No response. Went into the neighbors yards calling them- nothing. I can't find them anywhere. I have no idea where they are.
I guess the only good thing is the wind has died down, and it is a tad bit warmer than it has been all week (26 degrees), although it is supposed to snow a little tonight. I sure hope they are huddled together somewhere warm, and when I go out in the morning, my little beggar girl comes running. ( The one chicken learned that treats come from in the house, and lately she comes running to the door, trying to get in)
*sigh* I really wish I could find them

If it's dark, they've probably gone to roost somewhere. Hoping they show up first thing in the morning for you! [IMG]

I woke this morning to snow on the ground, and 3 chickens pacing back and forth squawking loudly along the fence across the back yard- on the other side of the fence in the neighbors yard. Just as I had suspected, they travelled into that yard, and couldn't figure out how to get back. So, I traipsed through the snow, opened the gate ( luckily there is a gate from our property onto his), and they all 3 ran like the dickens to their coop. I let the others out, and when I peeked into their coop, all 3 were piled in the dishpan they use for a nest box LOL.

It's the one chickens fault. She has her father's adventuresome spirit, and wanders into that yard. And just like her father, once behind the fence, can't figure out how to get back.
