I was gone for about a month, during which time two of my hens went missing. One returned shortly before I did - with four (now two :( ) chicks in tow. Which leaves one hen still missing. She was super broody before I left and kept making secret nests out in the bush, so I've been assuming she's also hatching eggs out there somewhere. But I've been back for nearly a week, home most of the day, and I've yet to see her come out for food and water!

When my hens were on eggs before, they'd always hop off every now and then to refuel. Which makes me think that she might've been killed instead :( Has anybody out there ever had a hen who they didn't see at all till her babies hatched? Thanks!

I have heard of broodies not returning home until they have hatched their eggs. She may be near a waterhole or somewhere with a lot of food around. If she's not back within a week it two, assume the worst.
