Oh - I see. But she would not get that way if we didn't have a rooster, right?? Or would she? We are still awaiting our first eggs as they are teenagers. Should be very soo though... Thanks for the reply!!

Yeah, they will still go broody without a rooster around. They'll be sitting on unfertilized eggs though of course.

Oh, that gives me hope since the timing is about right! My husband went riding on the 4 wheeler, looking around but I think I will walk in the surrounding pasture this evening. Thanks!

its also posible that a wild rooster in going around .Broody means that she is sitting on eggs .Some first layers like to get out of their home and hide ther eggs then come back so you might have minacher chichens and you might think they are teens cause their so small.
