Missing/ "cut" neck feathers!

I have a mille fluer D'uccle rooster whose neck feathers (not all) seem to be cut/missing. iis been like this for quite a while now. SOMEBODY HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you looked for external parasites! Also ...other chickens will pull them out and eat them...bearded birds seem to have this happen alot

The way you're explaining it...it just sounds like molting. Feathers that are "cut looking" could be new growth after molt and the naked areas could be the actual molt itself.

It could be parasites...could be pecking from coopmates.

My friend had a rooster who would make all his neck feathers look like they'd be cut off...because he had this dreadful habit of rubbing his neck all over her fenceposts. He never had parasites - never was sick (he's still alive at 9 years old).
