Missing duck

I am missing my beloved Roxy a Pekin mallard mix that I hatched myself and he is like my baby so I am heartbroken that he is missing. Something also bit my pekin duck,..the bio mom and my other duck was unharmed. I have seen a fox now and again but he seemed small and ran when I yelled at him. My dog happened to be inside and I can hardly text right now,..this is killing me,..he can fly a little,..what is the chance he got away and could be close? All the neighbors have a few acres each or is he gone forever?

Hopefully he returns. Did you go out searching for him?
Possibly the Fox got him..
Lock up the others because a predator will return until everything is gone.

I was wondering if you went searching for him. A fox got my favorite bird several months ago during the middle of the day. I was heartbroken and still am. I searched and all I found was feathers. I never found her but now I don't free range my birds anymore. I know most poultry keepers will loose birds at one time or another but it isn't easy. Good luck and keep the faith...

I went searching and I wondered what are the odds of finding him? His sis was out calling for him all day and the mom stayed inside because she had wounds all over her. She let me put her in the bathtub and clean all the wounds and put antibiotic ointment on her. I don't see any of his feathers only the mom, the white pekin,.. he looks like dad, a Mallard. I have them inside as soon as the sun starts to set
Has anyone been successful in finding there duck after a predator has taken it? He had to have gone thru 2 fences,..?????

got my camera today and tried to set it up but my computer was messed up from the storms and when I tried to get the SD card out it went down further and I tried everything to get it out but finally decided to send it back. Amazon is so cool, it is sending one right away and I do not have to pay for shipping or even have to repack it. I just have to take it to the nearest Kohl's and drop it off and they do all the work and then I go shopping,..how cool is that. I hate returning things because of the reason, .packing and paying shipping. Every day I miss my little guy,..I am still sick over it,.

I'm so sorry for your loss! Whatever the predator it was it will be really important to get some hardware cloth up and eliminate entry points! Good luck!

I got a camera and I am having issues with it but today I saw a cat outside the fencing and I went running outside with my dog and he went right through their run and now there is a breach in it and I need some help on how to repair it. I bought it online and put it together. This is the 2nd time I saw this cat, I had a weird feeling and went to go check on them and this cat was sitting on the step to the pool watching my Winnie swim. Could this cat have taken Roxy? He was almost the size of her and the only feathers were from Shorty the pekin,she had 8 wounds that went down to the muscle. I put her in the bathtub and cleaned her wounds and they were everywhere, on her neck underbelly, back,. I think they went after the Pekin, Shorty, and Roxy, the drake defended them, I have seen him lower his head to people and pets he did not know. Any help with this run situation?

Keep them inside until you get the fencing fixed. Very sorry for your loss. Just have a hard time thinking a house cat would take off with a adult duck.

I think Winnie is attracting Animals by going out and calling for Roxy she keeps going around the yard chasing Cosmo the dog and calling for him I just had a black cat stalking them and sure enough the little girls came in the doggie door and I am so impressed they did what I taught them to do now Winnie is more clingy than ever she will not let me out of her sight for one second she even jumps on my lap when I'm on my computer it's sweet but a little sad what should I do with Winnie she keeps walking around the run and squawking for Roxy waiting to hear back from him those two were inseparable since birth I had them in the house here for almost four months poor girl poor us
