Missing eggs

My chickens have been pretty good at laying one egg per day for the past month or so. Occasionally someone would miss a day, but last week, I went from 3-4/day to 2/day then just 1 and for the last two days I haven't had an egg at all. There are no shells left in their nest, I thought they might have eaten one or something. I don't know what is happening to my eggs. Any clue? Could it be something wrong with all my chickens or an egg predator?

Have they started molting? Mine stopped laying when they began to molt. All but one hen molted at the same time. I would think that if you had a predator, you would see evidence like bits of the shell. When a possum got into our coop, she left behind broken egg shell. I know there are lots of other reasons why this could happen, but I would not worry too much yet if you are not seeing any other signs.

I don't know. They may have. They are missing a few feathers. Probably why the guy sold them to me. I've had them about a month. How long does molting last?

Crisis averted. Eggs found. I was cleaning the coop and found the eggs. They hid them in a corner I cant see from the outside. Silly chickens....
