Hello,

My Bordrock ladies have missing feathers and my other ladies, 2 RIR's and 2 Buff's don't. It's not molting related. It's been going on for sometime now. I have cleaned, dusted changed bedding regurally. Fresh water good food / scratch and clean greens. Daily outings in the back yard too.

I'll have to get some pictures so you can see. If any one local i my area knows, please hit me up.

Thanks

Nina

One very common spot for feather picking is under the beak and down the front of the neck. The passive bird just stands there and lets the 'plucker' pick away. If it were mites, lice, environmental, or dietary deficiency all of your birds would be affected. Can you post pictures?

Ok here is the hen with the feathers missing on her neck.

Not really. In my area they don't really molt.
I do believe that all chickens molt, regardless of climate....and that could be what is happening with your bird.
Do you use supplemental light for extended laying in winter?
