I've had my first 3 chickens since spring. One of my Wynadots went from laying real well in May to brooding pretty much steadily through most of June and July, despite all of my efforts to follow suggestions on this website Now, she has quit brooding for a couple of weeks but I don't think she has laid and egg yet. she started molting about a week ago I think but when I looked at her today I realize that the entire back of her neck is stripped for feathers and there are feathers all over the place. I have no roosters, I have not noticed any pecking going on by the other hens but I guess it might be. They have all been together pretty much since hatching and have a 250 square foot yard and a 20 square foot coop.,.., so lots of space. The one that is loosing feathers seems to be eating and drinking well.

Any suggestions?

It could be some picking, or just a severe molt. This year my rooster lost all his long tail feathers in two days!
As long as the skin isn't broken, and she's still eating and drinking well, I wouldn't worry too much.
They often will stop laying while molting and while broody, so I wouldn't worry about that right now either, considering you've had both factors!
