I noticed my hen, Ruby, was missing feathers on her chest (idk chicken anatomy haha). Is this molt? Is she picking them out? What’s going on here?

yes it is molting but she could also be biting or plucking them herself I am not exactly sure but I have got chickens of my own and I was wondering that once and so I looked it up on my computer and they do do that and sometimes they can be or get picked on too so you may have to watch a little more closely

How old is she?
If she's about 14-18 months, and you live in the northern hemisphere, she's probably molting.

Awe I have a chicky named Ruby tooooo ❤️. Looks like she's molting to me. It's that time of year. All my birds are molting and getting new feathers.

I just witnessed my other hen pecking out her feathers!?? What the? Is this bullying??
