Thanks for the info, sounds like help is soon on the way.  I felt bad for two of them in the summer.  Their skin would be burnt a bright red, ouch.   I enjoyed hearing the roosters crow, but the hens were taking a terrific beating.   They are much calmer now and way more friendly.  
I let them free range a few hours  every afternoon.  They have seventy five acres to roam on, but seldom stray more than a hundred yards from the roost.  They do have a life of luxury, as far as a chickens life would be looked at.  They must have five dusting areas, most under large pine trees.   The fall insect population has been filling their crops.  I can sit and enjoy watching them for hours.
