Hi all! I have 6 hens, 4 cream legbars and 2 marans. They are approx 9 months old, they have a 9x14ft run/coop area and a chicken tunnel that attaches to a 10x20ft run. They are in sand. I don’t free range them because I live on a marsh in Florida with lots of predators. Anyway I noticed today that one of my marans is missing feathers on her lower abdomen where she’d normally be fluffy. The area has some bruising and small scabs. Does this look like feather picking? I checked her and the others over and see no signs of parasites and I’ve never seen my girls pick on each other! Thanks for your help!

You have a feather picker. Once you find which one it is, put peepers on her. In the meantime, apply Nu-stock to the effected area. It will heal the area and deter the picker as well.
Thank you so much! I ordered the Nu-stock. Now I have to figure out who is doing the picking! Thanks again!

This might help as well, I hear it works great at keeping the pickers from picking.

No it did not. My hens help each other clean it off. I’m going to try the pinless peepers next and dust them for bugs just in case.
