Today for the first time in 4 days i let my 11 hens out to free range. I have 1 broody silkie and i noticed my buff brahma sleeping in the nexting box last night. She came out this morning when i let everyone out. When i went to lock up the coop she wasnt in there. I've searched everywhere for her. No feathers, no body, nothing. Do you think something nabbed her with no trace or could she been broody somewhere hidden? Its also pouring down raining. Its totally dark now so i had to end my search party :(

Aw, I'm sorry...I've lost birds that way before; probably foxes; I hate that, just a missing bird, no clues, nothing. Sometimes they show up again...

I am so sorry to hear that,I hope that you find her.

my hen had done that before, gone no feathers or trace but then one of my neighbors had found her wandering around her yard (she also has chickens) Try looking around for any holes or any way to escape if not she's probably hiding. She's probably around there somewhere, good luck

I had 2 hens that did that to me once, but it turns out one was roosting on the coop, the other was under the shed nesting.Yours is probably nesting somewhere. Don't worry.

I hope you find her!!! I used to have non broody hens just wander and never be found the whole day and me be in tears, only to find God answering my prayers, and seeing her come out of hiding from some nook or cranny I apparently hadn't searched well enough. I had two jersey giant hen that did it to me all the time.... Update us tomorrow if you find her!
