Missing my old buddy

Recently my first ever rooster that I got, Foghorn (Lavender Orpington) passed and I needed to find another rooster to watch over my hens because they were so stressed they wouldn’t even sleep in the coop at night so I put his son Red (Lavender x Buff Orpington) in and it makes me so happy to see him watching over them and taking care of them just like his mean old dad used to do and he looks just like him but red and black. He’s began sleeping in the same spot as Foggy used to and it makes me so happy to see him following in his dad’s footsteps. Here’s some pictures of them

It's great that Red is there to carry on in his dad's absence. I know it's not the same as still having Foghorn, but you clearly see some of his dad in him, and it sounds like the hens do, too. Carry on, Red!

Everyone does miss him, even my dog just stared at the grave for a while and didn’t move. I am glad I finally can go into my run without getting flogged because Foggy was overprotective and would mess up anything that came in there (once a feral cat broke in and attacked reds mom and Foggy flogged the H#LL out of it and it only managed to take a silkie chick but that cat is compost now because I caught it in my live trap) and by anything that came in there I was included. Red on the other hand will mess up anything and everything except me, he will do the courting dance around me and loves to be held like a baby but he chases my siblings and my parents anytime they get near him.
