Missing out on the cherries

Ive been waiting for our sour cherry tree to finally ripen. Its a mad dash to beat the birds whom always seem to know at first light when the day finally arrives. Well that day was today! But, after a very dry spring so far we have been rocked by T storms and heavy downpours the last 2 days accompanied by plenty if lightning. The storms are finally subsiding and most of the cherries have been blown to the ground and are being gobbled up by the chickens.
I just hope there is enough left for one cherry pie.

I got barely enough. Had to wrestle some away from my hens but i got 'em!
