My husband recently got two hens from a hatcher. One of them is completely missing her top beak. I have been syringe feeding her for a few days but I wonder if I'm just putting off the inevitable. She doesn't seem to get any food on her own and is starving by the time I get home in the afternoon. Is there any hope that the whole top beak will grow back? I can't believe anyone would do this to am animal.
and Welcome To BYC! Sorry about your hen. Can you post pictures? When a bird is debeaked the entire part of the beak is not removed, if yours is missing the entire beak it may be an injury or something it was born with.
