Missing without a trace? Hawk?

Would a hawk take a chicken and not leave a trail of feathers? Or what would do this?

yes it's possable ,owl too but mostly at night

Hawk. I have lost 14 in the last two+ weeks (6-8 week old chiks) to a hawk and her brood. Never lost that many before. My hawk seems to stop when they get to a certain size (she can't carry them away). I have a temporary tractor and I have reordered. I love nature but I can't finance her any more.
