My friends always get so mad when I use a period. Why is it normal to not use one now?

If you don't know any better and can't spell for sh!t it doesn't bother me.
BUT I don't care for when people purposely misspell stuff. An example here is "dux".

Also “Maran” instead of Marans and “Faverolle” Instead of Faverolles drives me up the wall. French word. Keep the ‘s’ even when singular.

But the 's' at the end isn't pronounced aloud, right?

I think may times people that are typing on a phone don't have the opportunity to see what they are writing because it scrolls up. Also autocorrect is a killer also.

Very true. I often forget that a lot of people use BYC on their phones. I am on a computer, and one with no autocorrect.
