I see it says the power supply adapter is 120v input 12v output but my husband says he thinks his PC fans are 5v, not 12. ????

Im not a computer expert but as far as I know the ones inside the power supply are 12 volt dc. I may be wrong. Somebody else chime in on this one please.

I tried to use a 3.7V adapter and it wouldn't work. Then I found an old cell phone adapter that was 12v and it worked. Not sure if a 5V would work but I suspect you may need to use the 12V.

I tried a DC 9V and it wouldn't work either. I HAD to use the 12V adapter and it worked fine!

The fan will be marked. The PC power supply provides 12V and 5V for different devices. Almost all PC fans are 12 volt.
