Mister creates small area of muddy ground

So I have had this problem for about a week now and the mister creates a small area in the coop and in that small area the ground is muddy. I was wondering if I could put down a towel so the towel would be wet and the silkies would not have to walk on mud when they walk under the mister. Would putting a towel down be OK to do? Replies would be appreciated, thanks!

Until you said "silkies " I was going to say let them play in the mud, since its probably nice and cool. I think a towel would be fine. I just wouldn't pick one of your wife's pretty, guest bathroom ones.
