Misting egg to loose weight?

This is going to sound like an odd question but I still have one egg that is very behind on weight. I read in this post: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/933151/mallard-update-day-22-air-sac-question-one-may-be-too-small
to mist the egg to help it loose weight. Does this only work with duck eggs. Should I try that? Would that totally throw off my humidity inside the Mini Brinsea? Right now I am running at ~30% with just a cap of water. All the other eggs are on target or slightly larger. Its day 11.

Misting an egg is supposed to help draw out the moisture as the water evaporates. One of the things you will find though, because of egg shell differences and quality is that some will loose moisture faster and others will be slower/harder to loose. Always adjust for the majority of the hatch and not the minority. Because every egg is different we can't provide each egg with the optimal conditions and why 100% hatches are more rare.

You certainly can try and give it what chance you can. If your other's are where they are supposed to be, they aren't going to go the opposite way. At day 11, just make sure that you keep an eye of them so that they are still loosing the proper amount. I, personally wouldn't mess with things if only one was small, but you got to do what feels right for you.

No no, I totally get it. I would hate to mess things up while I have things going well right now. I see that the chick is alive inside. I will weigh all of them again tomorrow and go from there. Lucky number 7 (my EE) is being weighed daily. This one is right on track. The others are .1-.3 above target weight.... my last one which is my dark brown egg is 2.2 above target weight.
