Mite and Lice prevention?

I wanted to be able to prevent mites and lice. My chicks are 8 weeks old and in a new coop and new sand run. When and what should I use to prevent mites and lice?

Also, do I worm a month before they are to start laying eggs even if I dont see worms? I just want to prevent all that I can.

I remove the straw out of their 8 x 10 coop every weeks, we put linolium down on the floor so it can easily be cleaned. There are 20 pullets total.

Sounds like you got a nice set up there. I can't help with the worm bit, but Moodychicken had a post regarding "mite mix" that had rubbing alcohol and permethrin. Put it in a spray bottle and hose down the buggers. I would search the site for mite mix and it should come up. She has the ratio's etc. listed, too. I use it and it's worked for me. Good luck.
