I am positive a new girl we got 2 weeks ago has mites. My son noticed them on the way home from getting her so she has been in isolation since. I have given her warm baths with soapy water or Epsom salt. Slathered her feet in Vaseline. Put diatomaceous earth in the coop and run along with a mite spray. What else can I do because we're 2 weeks in and I can still see them on her beak. I first noticed thick scales on her feet then she's got some white on her comb and red all around her eyes. The mites are super tiny and grey and come out of her nostrils. She is a d'Uccle and I just want her to be okay. I attached a picture of her sleeping right after her bath today.

I would get a can of permethrin/garden powder and rub that all over her, and repeat it in 7 to 10 days. You can use that in the coop too...all over the floor, nest boxes, etc.

The vaseline on the feet and legs is what we do if they have scaly leg mites, which are different than those crawling all over her. Are her legs/feet looking scaly, crusty, swollen? If so, repeat that again in three or four days, and again once more for a total of three times.

I would also give her a vitamin boost. We use Poultry Cell in their water once a week or two. Scrambled eggs would be a good treat for her too.

Does she have any respiratory symptoms?

If you can post photos of her legs/feet that may be helpful.

In addition to giving her a good dusting with a Permethrin based poultry dust, I'd also consider treating her with Ivermectin since the mites are in the nasal cavity as well. Dosing for Ivermectin is in the link below.

Is she lethargic, not eating/drinking?

Thank you, yes her legs look scaly or crusty but not swollen. I will definitely add eggs and vitamin boost zi didn't think of that for this and I will repeat the Vaseline and get some garden powder. Thank you for your help.

Now that you say this, I'd do @Wyorp Rock's suggestion and kill two birds with one stone!

We used the Ivermectin 5mg Pour On with an eye dropper for SLM (scaly leg mites) the 3rd time they got them.

The silkies weight 2-3 lb meant they could have 1 drop, a 4 lb chickens, 2 drops. I don't like going outside of BYC for information, but I couldn't find a definitive answer at the time many years ago and I learned too many people overdose their chickens with it. Here's where I learned if interested.

Same MOA as with the vaseline...go in at night when they're roosting and take one chicken (I'd treat them all) and pull apart their feathers on their neck and drop your drop(s) on their skin. Repeat this in 7 to 10 days.

Many say there is an egg withdrawal, and it varies whether it's 1 week, 2 weeks, or a month. We did no withdrawal, but if I were, we'd go with the 2 weeks.

The dosage for ivermectin pour (5mg per ml) on is 0.1 ml per every 2 pounds of weight given once and again in 14 days. I would also recommend using it and the permethrin, due to the extensive mites all over and in her face. Prozap and Nexgard are the usual brands of permethrin garden dust found in feed stores. Use it in an old sock like a powder puff to dust the sinking of the chicken avoiding the eyes and nostrils.

No respiratory symptoms. She's eating and drinking she is very mellow doesn't get super active like my RIR's but she moves throughout her coop and run every day and forages and she lays 1 every 2-3 days but I read that her breed lays 100-150yr. I can post feet pictures tomorrow when she gets up.
